Meet Füreya, from our Inspiring Women series… Füreya Koral, the first female ceramic artist of the Republic era, was born into the esteemed Şakirpaşa family. She shared her lineage with renowned artists such as Halikarnas Balıkçısı Cevat Şakir, painter Aliye Berger, and Fahrünnisa Zeyd, and became a pioneer of ceramic art in Turkey. Blending traditional motifs with contemporary forms, she created large-scale ceramic murals and artworks. She broke boundaries with her art and drew inspiration from her freedom. In tribute to this inspiring woman, we have reflected her unique spirit in this special piece. Her hair, adorned with golden stars, symbolizes the brilliance of her artistry and vision.
